Hey. Is it cool if my mamma paints my toenails? She says it looks cute, but I think it looks too sissy and I wonder if it's unhealthy for me. Mamma won't go anywhere without painted toenails, but I'm not so sure it's a good idea for me.

Fri, January 9, 2004 - 10:23 AMOh goodie. One more reason to make mamma feel guilty for all the horrible things she does to me. Like not letting me sleep on the sofa anymore.

Re: nail polish
Thu, January 8, 2004 - 7:35 PMWhoa. I definitely wouldn't use the stuff that's for humans on an animal. Not good. If your mamma can find nail polish for dogs (and Kira's testimony aside, I'm pretty positive such a thing exists :) ) then go for it. -

Thu, January 8, 2004 - 11:59 PMMy human knows ofsuch a thing called soft claws...they're these plastic caps that you can glue onto a dog's nails. They come in different colours and don't mess up hardwood floors or carpeting due to a dog's nails. -

Re: nail polish
Sun, January 11, 2004 - 10:39 AMactually, i've heard that the soft claws arent bad at all. some vet created them as an alternative to declawing...i didnt know they make them for dogs as well.
because declawing is such a terrible thing to do!!!
the soft claws fit over the real claw & stay on for about a month. they come off as the claw grows...
its a nice idea because the cat doesnt do any damage to furniture, & the human doesnt resort to the declaw proceedure. -

Re: nail polish
Sun, January 11, 2004 - 9:56 PMi agree -9, but if it keeps someone from chopping off some poor kitty's toes just because they dont want the couch scratched...then i say UP WITH SOFTCLAWS!
(actually, i dont think a person that is so worried about their furniture that they'd declaw should even have a pet) -

Mon, January 12, 2004 - 11:45 AMAmen!
A couch was sacrificed to my scratchiness when I moved to West Hollywood (outdoor to indoor). After a period of adjustment I've consented to do the scratching-post thing. A small price for my fluffy presence!
Cuttin' off toes - that's Medieval! -
