RIP Elvis 1989-2007

Our dear cat Elvis passed away last night in his sleep - he was almost 18 years old.

I got him when I was right out of college and just getting started in the world. I have known him longer than my husband and most of my friends!

I am really sad about losing him, but at the same time I know it was for the best. He lived a long full life and was much loved, and now he is with his dearly departed buddy Tipper.

So drink a toast (or pass the 'nip) tonight in his honor!

- Kim (Elvis's mom)

Wow! Not much happens on this here Tribe. So, we'll start a post.

We like to explore. We like to climb curtains and blankets. And raid our food buckets. And flirt with each other. And whistle.

What do you guys do for fun? Aside from eat and sleep, which is the best.

Hi all....I caught this just in time. I just had to change my age in my profile, because at 6 years of age, Tribe thought I was too young to be a member and was going to delete my profile tomorrow! Eeek!

So, all doggy and kitty friends here on tribe, please be sure that you are listed as being of legal age, or risk losing your account!

You guys want to see some amazing cat stuff? Check out the luxury gifts on my kitty Christmas "shopping page":

http://sparklecat.com/Store/xmas-kitties.shtml

I actually only make up these pages in an effort to convince my human to buy these things for me. I want that limited-edition, Faberge-style bed desperately!

And yes, that is me playing with the floppy Santa. I've killed him more times than I can count. (Do you think I can convince Cat's Play to send over one of those beds so I can model in it??)

my mom took me to the creek today! and there were squirrels! lots of them!!! and i chased them to the end of my leash.

until we got to the creek proper, that is. then mom took off my leash, and i ran up, and i ran down, and i got wet and drank the stanky water! and yelled at the squrrels to come down out of the trees so i could chase them.

i'm kinda tired now.

behavior & exercise

Attention Dogs!

The person I live with has a friend who is training to be professional dog trainer. She just sent us some interesting information that some of your people might find useful:

......................

Did you know the majority of problem behaviour can be "cured" with proper exercise? This does not mean a walk or 2 or 3 around the neighbourhood. This means hard core running, jumping and turning for a minimum of 2 hours per day. For a medium to large-size dog, this quality and quantity of exercise is optimum.

If you're finding your dog digs, chews inappropriately, barks non-stop or chases the cat mercilessly, try giving your dog a minimum of 2 hours of exercise (yes, you'll have to get up earlier!) for 5 days. After 5 days, you can cut it back to 1.5 hours. Most of the problem behaviour should disappear.

.......................

...I hear this works for human children too!

WOOOF - IMPOTENT - SAVE them
In his effort to solve the budget crisis, California Governor
Schwarznegger has taken a hatchet to years of laws enacted to protect
abused and abandoned animals. The result is the "behind closed doors"
repeal of the Hayden bill and other pieces of humane legislation,
passed
through the years. Whether an act of omission or commission, the result
will be a return to the horrible pre-1998 status quo for California
animal shelters if you don't act TODAY.
The two most disturbing elements of the Governor's budget are the
return of the animal holding period to only 72 hours for all animals
(stray and relinquished) and the elimination of the requirement that
shelters seek veterinary care for animals at the shelter.
Among the other policies that will be repealed if the current budget
is adopted:
*The requirement that people convicted of cruelty to animals to pay for
the costs of the animals' care while the issue of guilt is being
determined.
*The requirement that as a condition of probation, people convicted of
animal cruelty can be prevented from owning animals for three years.
*The law that made it a duty for shelters to use all currently
acceptable methods of identification ñ including microchips ñ to
determine the lawful owner of any seized or impounded animals.
*The State's policy preference for adoption instead of killing
animals.
*The requirement that shelters allow qualified animal adoption/rescue
groups to take responsibility for animals if they pay the required fee.
*The requirement that shelters give owner-relinquished animals a chance
to be adopted.
The extent of the repeal caught everyone by surprise. We have only
one last chance to have these draconian measures removed from the
budget. The budget conference committee meets one final time... this
weekend. They must be convinced to revisit the inclusion of the
Hayden legislation as part of the budget or at least to only suspend
the
fiscal provisions of the Hayden legislation until the budget crisis has
passed.
Years of your work and the countless hours of hundreds of volunteers
can be erased THIS WEEKEND if this repeal is allowed to occur.
Listed below is contact information for the legislators who will be
meeting this weekend to approve the proposed budget. Please contact
them as many times as you are able before 5pm Friday, June 25th.

I'm kind of worried about what I eat and all the lead I probably live by next to the highway. Is lead still a problem now that there's only unleaded gas? And sometimes Dave gives me tuna for dinner. Since I'm only 11 pounds, I wonder just how dangerous the mercury in tuna is for cats?

Elvis is mean

My roommate Elvis is being really mean to my other roommate Prince. Whenever Prince tries to enter any room that Elvis is in, the Big E hisses, growls and chases him out. Lately he won't even let Prince use the litterbox, so Prince has been going in other places (like on the bed!). Poor fella, he just can't hold it in!

My mom is at her wit's end - she's gotten extra litterboxes and even gave Elvis some antihistamines to make him a little groggy, but he's still being a big bully. We're all pretty unhappy and my mom might let Prince move in with her sister in Houston. I'm gonna miss my buddy! Does anyone have any advice?
- the Conester

P.S. We have a new baby, and Elvis has been REALLY mean since the baby came home. He and Prince have never really gotten along though.

yum! new food!

Hi fellow furries!
My mom bought me some really yummy new kibbles about a month ago.

The food is from a small local company, and she says it's super high quality and has Omega-3 and 6 and has high-grade herring meal, chicken meal and all natural ingredients -- all I know is it's YUMMY!

I don't mean to promote this brand in particular, but it's called First Mate www.firstmate.com . I used to eat Iams (before we found out that they do cruel experiments on animals) and sometimes Techni-Cal. Then we switched to Max Cat, but none of them have made me as healthy as this one.

It seems to fill my stomach more, so that I don't need to eat as much. My mom loves that too because then I don't have to whine and poke her with my paw when I'm hungry at 5am.

I also don't shed as much. I'm glad about that, because then I don't get hairballs so much. And my mom doesn't get my fur all over her clothes so much either.

I hope you guys can get your humans to buy you the good stuff. You'll feel so much better! I'm not trying to flog First Mate -- I'm sure there are a lot of great high quality brands out there. I just hope you guys aren't forced to eat junk food like Purina or Friskies!

About Me: My name is Amare Benedetto and I am 3 1/2 months old. I was just recently rescued from my old home which was a yucky cold cage at an animal control shelter. I was put in that place since I was 3 weeks old cuz my birth mommy was a house pet and her owners didn't want her babies so they threw us away to the shelter. I got really sick because of the cold cage and I developed an upper resperatory infection. My infection wouldn't go away cuz the people there were bad so they put me in a cage without my siblings and ignored me. Eventually, they decided to kill me cuz I wasn't getting better and they didn't want to deal with me anymore. That's when my new foster mommy came and took me away. She gave me medicines and loves and now I'm all better and get to snuggle in a real bed. I'm looking for a permanent mommy cuz my foster mommy told me I might find one on this thing. I can't write so she's helping me. Please write me a message if you want me to snuggle you for the rest of my life. Puuurrrss and cute kitten looks to you all!
Who I Want to Meet: Anyone who wants me to be their new baby or anyone who wants to be my friend. Add me, my full name is Amare Benedetto. In Italian it means both Loving and Blessed.

Ok I finally got a new baby bearded dragon on January 10th!!
This is his picture and there are more in my album :)

My old one died of old age a year ago and my husband finally said it was time. I am such a happy mommy. And Tuco? Well Tuco is a pig when it comes to food. And his pictures don't do his colors justice. He is a red/gold beardie and it looks like he is going to be of splendid vibrance as he gets older. :)

Hey. Is it cool if my mamma paints my toenails? She says it looks cute, but I think it looks too sissy and I wonder if it's unhealthy for me. Mamma won't go anywhere without painted toenails, but I'm not so sure it's a good idea for me.

Sometimes I forget who I'm barking at. You know how it is, your sitting there snoozin' then someone runs in the room, so you growl and bark. And when I get yelled at now, I get a little confused and forget to go lay down, so I just sit there and look up at them. They think I'm trying to look cute, but I'm really thinking, "asshole, why are you yellng at me? I'm a dog, I'm supposed to bark." I do a lot more barking too, in the car, on walks. Maybe it's because the cold makes me itchier. You'd be cranky too if you were itchy.

so my mom has a bee in her bonnet about getting me a feline friend to scamper and cavort with. while i am intrigued, i am also nervous! he's a little older than i am and mom keeps saying how he's "mellow" whatever that means and something about how his presence might help to calm me down a little... even if he's an easy going guy, are we going to get along? i mean, he's going to be eating my food! i might starve! and if he takes a shine to my dad, who is my absolute FAVE, i might get really ticked off!!!

do any of you have older pals you live with? can you tell me what it's like? will i be as happy as mom thinks i will be?

thanks you guys, you're the catnip in my squirrel toy...

I am half whippet and half lab. I basically chew and run all day. My mama calls me "little little" but my name is Paloma. I could eat peanut butter all day. I like sitting in chairs and on laps, but maybe I'm getting a little bit too bif for laps. I have a dog brother and two cat sisters. We love each other. I am very good at giving my people "the look," which makes them feel all guilty.

RSPCA campaign to update animal welfare laws

My fellow UK cats, dogs, and other fine fur-endowed friends, you might want to take a look at http://www.rspca.org.uk and sign their petition to help the RSPCA's campaign to bring about a long-overdue update to the animal welfare laws in Britain.

The law in question is the Protection of Animals Act 1911, the one that the RSPCA uses to bring about most of its prosecutions.

The proposed changes would introduce a statutory 'duty of care', where anyone who owns, or is in control of an animal, will be legally obliged to look after its welfare. The RSPCA believes such a duty should be based on the Five Freedoms: from fear and distress, hunger and thirst, discomfort, pain, injury and disease, and the freedom to express normal behaviour.

The government plans to publish a draft of this bill in spring 2004 - but whether it proceeds may depend on the amount of public interest.

If you could ask your peoples to take a look at this and sign the petition, it could really help the chances of a review, and help protect neglected and suffering animals across Britain.

Wellness Canned Cat Food Labels No Longer Accurate

ze's "That Woman" writing here....

For those of you who feed Wellness canned cat food, please be warned that the label is no longer accurate. They've now added rice to the formulation. This is not a big deal to the majority of healthy cats out there, but there are many pet owners who feed their kitties Wellness as a staple because they're allergic to grains (and Wellness used to be grain-free), or because they had irritable bowel disease (grains are an aggravating factor in IBD), or because they were diabetic (no grains means low starch/carb values), etc.

And then there are those like me, who don't believe that grains have a place in an obligate carnivore's diet, and who's pretty convinced that the epidemic of obesity, diabetes, IBD and food allergies we are seeing in modern housecats is mainly attributable to the huge amount of grains in commercial pet food. Which means Wellness used to be an oasis in a desert of starch-laden feline diets.

Anyway, essentially, the information on the label is false, and the nutritional analysis is of particular concern because who knows what it is now that rice has been added. Moreover, Old Mother Hubbard, the parent company, has no plans to change the labels for six months because that's the standard amount of wiggle room pet food companies have. They are taking no steps to inform the public of this formulation change, although they'll confirm the addition of rice if you call or e-mail them. You can do so, by the way, here: http://www.oldmotherhubbard.com/talk/index.html.

Yet another thing that bothers us is the fact that they gave people the run-around when first confronted with the rice issue. (Someone on the Holisticat mailing list found out when her grain-intolerant Abysinnian puked up the rice from a can of Beef and Chicken food, which is how this whole thing started.) First, they told us that only the Beef and Chicken flavor was affected. Then they said that it was only a test product, and that the shipment was accidental. Now they're saying yes, the rice is in every flavor, it's here to stay, and they don't really give a rat's ass.

My little bastards are not grain-intolerant, they're perfectly healthy young cats with stomachs of iron who eat a home-made diet, but they do get canned food as treats. However, in light of Old Mother Hubbard's lying, I'm choosing not to feed them this food any more until I've been reassured that the rice will not be in future batches and that the nutritional analysis information *at least for the website* is accurate. Yeah, customer service at OMH has heard from me, hahahaha.

But really, there is NO REASON to add rice except to cut costs. Their story is that the old formulation was too soupy. Horseshit. The old formulation was quite firm, not any more soupy than the average can of food (if you want soupy, Petguard Chicken and Wheatgerm--now THAT's soupy). So in my admittedly biased opinion, adding rice is messing with what used to be a perfectly wonderful product.

And this is also a cautionary tale of sorts: because of the six-month leeway regarding labels, who really knows what's in our pet food at any one time? Paranoid, perhaps, but for those with sick cats, it's a definite concern.

I need surgery... it's serious, I'm having trouble walking and I hurt all the time. My pack took me to the doctor's office and we found out that I have a disease that caused my back bones to grow into my spinal cord and pinch nerve roots. I try so hard to be a "trooper" but sometimes my back hurts so bad I have to cry out. My pack's alpha male and female give me medicine whichs helps a little but we all know I have to go under the knife to truely fix the problem. I'm scared for me and them, especially my boy because he just wants me to be able to play again. I see all the other dogs and kitties out playing and I desperately want to join them but can't for now. I posted the plea for financial help to assist my pack so I hope you will forgive me if it seems out of line. Thank you and I hope to be playing with you all soon.

Her human is not likely to cook much for himself let alone for her so the BARF diet is not likely to happen. THANX!

I need some advice on how I can get rid of my fleas. My mom is afraid to give me a normal flea bath because I have a kitten who is still nursing. She just turned 3 months old but we aren't sure if it is safe since she won't give up the tit. Mom has tried using dishwashing liquid on me and my little Aurora. She also sprayed the house and dipped the other cats but it's not helping me or my baby.Is there anyone who can help me so we can rid ourselves of the infestation?

I can't stop licking myself!
I just can't help it...I'm licking my belly so much that my fur is getting thin. And I've been licking my nipple so much that it's gotten all bloody...so of course I have to lick it some more to keep the sore clean.

Anyone else have this problem? What did you do to stop it? I'm 11 years old and I've never had this problem until about 8 months ago.

HELP A BELOVED FAMILY DOG AND BOY'S BEST FRIEND

HELP – HELP – HELP – HELP – HELP – HELP – HELP – HELP – HELP – HELP!!!

This is a plea for financial help from a family who just received the shock of a lifetime about our friend, companion and adored family member, Mordred. A month ago our 4 1/2 year old dog "Mordred" started having some "episodes" where he would howl in agony whenever he'd walk up steps or try to jump up onto his favorite chair. He has now progressed to limping and favoring his right leg all the time, he mostly just lays in his bed on the floor all day, whining, moaning and sometimes his pain is so bad he won't get up even to eat. This crisis is breaking our hearts and causing our son extreme distress.

In a panic we managed to scrape together some money to take him to our vet (South County Animal Hospital in Morgan Hill) who said, "he has classic symptoms of Lumbosacral Disease (spinal arthritis). We'll put him on anti-inflammatory and muscle relaxing medications but he really needs to see a specialist." On Friday we took Mordred to see Dr. Julie Smith, a veterinary orthopedic surgeon in San Rafael. She examined Mordred and determined that he needs an in-depth “study,” which includes a mylogram (a procedure wherein dye is injected into his spine and they take high contrast X-rays). Furthermore, once she's determined what is compressing his spinal cord/nerve roots she'll need to operate, "decompress" and/or fuse vertebrae. She says she's had great success with these types of surgery and Mordred should get back to about 90% mobility (he won't be able to jump up on things but can run and play with his boy and other dogs as he has in the past). Most importantly he'll no longer have suffer in agony. If anyone out there has sciatica you can relate.

Here's the shocker (and the reason we are PLEADING for help): when Dr. Smith brought me the estimate for the mylogram procedure, we broke down, it will cost from $1,310.00 up to $2,200.00 and she stated that the actual surgery would run $2,500.00 to $3,500.00. We have about $600.00 in our savings account. There is NO WAY our family can afford $3,800.00 let alone $5,700.00! We are completely devastated and need the help of the animal lovers of Craig's List to save our beloved Mordred. We can offer IT (cabled & wireless networks), web dev, small event planning, Mexican food/Baked goods, light bookkeeping, and various other barter items/services if you can help.

We have documentation and records should you wish to verify. We have a consulting business so we can give you a receipt for which you can 1099 us and write this off your taxes.

We have considered the alternatives of rescue and euthanasia, neither of which allows us to keep our best friend, brother, son, cherished pet.

THANK YOU – THANK YOU - THANK YOU – THANK YOU - THANK YOU - THANK YOU!!!

P.S. If you have negative comments/suggestions about our predicament, please keep them to yourself as we already have enough drama with which to deal.

So, I have a large bald patch, three metal staples in the four inch gash in my head, shredded ears, a bitten and bruised foot, a few broken claws and a huge injection of antibiotics...but really, you should have seen the other guy. That's what I keep telling my humans, anyway.

Or, that's what I'll tell them when my ears stop bleeding and I've had a decent nap by the fire.

At least the vet hasn't suggested to suffer the indignity of the collar of shame. And she said I was brave, when I didn't even squeak about the staples being put in.

There had better be some damn good treats in my supper bowl tonight. I believe I deserve them.

Hey Friendsters,
I've been offline. A few days ago I broke my toe! I hid for a while because I just KNEW that my human would bring me to the bad place with the table and the lights. Finally, I hopped up to my human and wham! Off to the place. So I'm hangin' in the house. Takin' pain meds (woohoo!) Overheard humans saying I will be fine in a few weeks. They are worried about me and I'm milking it! Heh. Drop me a line. I'm bored as hell in the house.
Love,
-Dave

If any of you guys are eating Go dog or cat food manufactured by Petcurean, there's a recall going on. Some animals have died from eating this crap.

For more information, go to http://beta.kpix.com/external/sendoff.html?http://www.petcurean.com/recall.html.

You know, I bitch about the home-made diet That Woman makes us eat, but sometimes I'm pretty glad she's such an anal-retentive tyrant.

for the cats

for all the baby kittens who don't have older brothers and sisters to teach them the ways of the world...

Rules for Cats to Live By!

BATHROOMS:
Always accompany guests to the bathroom. It is not necessary to do anything. Just sit and stare.

DOORS:

Do not allow any closed doors in any room. To get door open, stand on hind legs and hammer with forepaws. Once door is opened, it is not necessary to use it. After you have ordered an "outside" door opened, stand halfway in and out and think about several things. This is particularly important during very cold weather, rain, snow, or mosquito season.

CHAIRS AND RUGS:
If you have to throw up, get to a chair quickly. If you cannot manage in time, get to an Oriental rug. If there is no Oriental rug, shag is good. When throwing up on the carpet, make sure you back up so it is as long as a humans bare foot.

HAMPERING:
If one of your humans is engaged in some activity and the other is idle, stay with the busy one. This is called "helping," otherwise known as "hampering." Following are the rules for "hampering:"
1) When supervising cooking, sit just behind the left heel of the cook. You cannot be seen and thereby stand a better chance of being stepped on and then picked up and comforted.
2) For book readers, get in close under the chin, between eyes and book, unless you can lie across the book itself.
3) For paperwork, lie on the work in the most appropriate manner so as to obscure as much of the work as possible or at least. Pretend to doze, but every so often reach out and slap the pencil or pen.
4) For people paying bills or working on income taxes or Christmas cards, keep in mind the aim: to hamper! First, sit on the paper being worked on. When dislodged, watch sadly from the side of the table. When activity proceeds nicely, roll around on the papers, scattering them to the best of your ability. After being removed for the second time, push pens, pencils, and erasers off the table, one at a time.
5) When a human is holding the newspaper in front of him/her, be sure to jump on the back of the paper. Humans love to jump.
6) When human is working at computer, jump up on desk, walk across keyboard, bat at mouse pointer on screen and then lay in human's lap across arms, hampering typing in progress.

WALKING:
As often as possible, dart quickly and as close as possible in front of the human, especially: on stairs, when they have something in their arms, in the dark, and when they first get up in the morning. This will help their coordination skills.

BEDTIME:
Always sleep on the human at night so he/she cannot move around.

LITTER BOX:
When using the litter box, be sure to kick as much litter out of the box as possible. Humans love the feel of kitty litter between their toes.

HIDING:
Every now and then, hide in a place where the humans cannot find you. Do not come out for three to four hours under any circumstances. This will cause the humans to panic (which they love) thinking that you have run away or are lost. Once you do come out, the humans will cover you with love and kisses and you will probably get a treat.

ONE LAST THOUGHT:
Whenever possible, get close to a human, especially their face, turn around, and present your butt to them. Humans love this, so do it often. And don't forget guests.

This sucks. I can barely type because they doped me up.

That bastard of a human of mine took me to the white wall place again. I had to get all sorts of stuff done. My teeth and fur are clean though. Nails are kinda short. Easy typing, no fun on the scratching post though.

I gave 'em hell though. As soon as my human was gone, I tore into them nicely. Got in a few shots before they got me with the pointy thing, and then I went to sleep.

In retaliation, I think I am going to pee everywhere. What do you guys think? Any ideas on how to fix daddy?

MURDERED ON FRIENDSTER! (part II)

yup, it's happened... again. those paranoid freaks at friendster have decided to eradicate me for the second time. but not before i got the chance to do whatever i could to aid and abet our cause. thanks to all of you for helping spread the almighty gospel of our beloved Petster Forever. we are a cult... oops... i mean... uh... tribe... yeah... tribe to be reckoned with. raaawwwwrrrrrr!!! you heard me! (scratch scratch)

and look, you guys! we're well over 200 members! i bet we're going to end up being the biggest tribe on here. (already being the most badass.) well done, my comrades in arms! promotions and bonuses all around! break out the nip and the chew toys! organic apples and carrots for all the rest!

i'm pondering at this moment if and when to maneuver back onto friendster under a novel guise. what say you to this, my dearest friends? i welcome your opinions on this matter. is my presence still needed on that wretched fascistic scumpit of a site or will the cause still live on without me? feel free to pontificate at your leisure.

PETSTERS UNITE!
PETSTER FOREVER!

xoxo,
sebastian

ps. loving you too much. (but you knew that.)

pps. majorly stoked about the proliferation of the sub-tribes. they so rule.

Bird charmer

I seem to knack for coercing birds into my fearsome grasp. Once, when me and my family were living in an apartment with no balcony, I coaxed not one, but TWO birds within pouncing distance, and had a lovely afternoon snack. When I see birds, I make this little chattery noise at them which I think hypnotizes them and brings them closer. (Do any of you guys chatter at birds too?)

My humans always have to eat horrible plant-like food and other strange unappetizing stuff, so I saved a head and some other body parts for them specially. I figured I would do something nice for them, since they always share their warm laps with me.

When they came home, they made all this fuss and my mom made my dad take the bird corpses outside. I guess they had already eaten. But I could tell they were really impressed that I managed to catch two birds without ever leaving the apartment! I'm sure it's my chattering noises that lures them to me.

I'd love to know if you guys have ever surprised your humans by catching small animals for them.

hello beautiful animal pals!

i know this may sound strange, but i have been sneezing for about 3 days now. i'm not sure why, and mom and dad seem to be getting a little paranoid about it because they are doting on me even more than usual. have any of you guys gone for days of sneezing (it's not all the time, but frequent enough to annoy me)? do you think it's like the human equivalent to a cold or should i ask mom to take me to the lady who wears the white coat who likes to stick that cold thing in my butt? ooh!

Hey everyone! I was wondering if there are other folks out there that are as big of fans of The Adventures of Pete and Pete as i am. And is there a tribe for fans of that show on here? IF you cant remember what that was, it was a nickelodeon show about 2 red-headed brothers both named Pete. They had a personal superhero named Artie. It was the greatest show ever created. Best scripting, directing and overall cleverness ive ever seen anywhere!! If you're a fan let me know! Thanks!!

Hey guys. I have taken in a foster cat recently. He is neutered, two years old, grey tabby with white face and paws. Also, he has an extra digit (thumb) on each paw in the front. I live in Raleigh, NC. This sweetie boy has been declawed (unfortunately). I have gotten him current on ALL shots. He is FIV and feline luekemia neg. The catch with this guy though is that he MUST be an indoor cat and needs to be the ONLY pet in the house. He does not like other animals. They scare him terribly and he gets really agitated around them. Also, I think that he probably would not be the best cat around children as he gets nervous easily. Please email me if you would like more information and a picture if you know someone who could be a great caretaker for Thumbs. This poor guy has had a rough beginning and needs some TLC and Fancy Feast from here on out. My email address is clairf@speakeasy.net. Or you can just send me a message through Tribe.

I saw my friendster list dip under 200 friends today, after it should have been more than 250 (and as you know I only have cats as friends) ... so, please, invite the cats that you know to tribe.net and keep me in your prayers as I am becoming afraid ... remember chasoie@animail.com in case something terrible happens. Let us stay united and strong in the face of the terrible empire of Friendster oppression.

Hey folks,

There's now a tribe for those of us who have a definite epicurean bent: http://finickybastids.tribe.net. That Woman made me call it Finicky Bastids because she said it was obnoxious enough that I needed to make a tribe for this--I might as well call a spade a spade. Pah. Anyway, over here we can discuss our favorite recipes and share our food woes: how tasty Iams used to be before they added all that corn, how fresh quality poussin is truly hard to find nowadays, how our humans cruelly refuse to feed us our favorite canned food like Fancy Feast more often, and whether dehydrated salmon beats bonito flakes in terms of flavor, texture and addictability. Hope to see some of your beautiful, finicky faces there!

Peace out,

ok my moms saw this on tv. and she thinks its true. tell your parents to try this shizz:

they say that cats show lots of emotion thru the eyes. if you notice cats stare each other down when going to have a fight - sometimes they just look at the other one until one of them backs down. try this with your cat. get eye contact then blink slowly at your cat - they will still watch you and when you are done they will blink slowly back at you (close your eyes for atleast 5 seconds) - some pet experts believe this is how momma cats show their love to their kittens and most cats do this action to humans constantly but we rarely do it back.

try it!

My mum's noticed a a few cats here on petster like to lick toes...I like to rub my cheeks on toes because they're easy and within reach and it feels good...but she was just wondering why other cats like toes...so she wanted me to ask for all the other cat's opinions on why toes are so fun...besides the fact that the wiggle and look like small moving creature...so if anyone replys thanks! and my mum thanks you too

ATTENTION PETSTERS!

Get up and do something...
I am finding all on here that do not have many friends and simply befriending them. Makes me quite sad to see new members with hardly any friends or testimonials- that's what made our Petster takeover on friendster fun- writing those silly and humorous, sincere testimonials fun. It also brought together many owners who became friends! So, search and look around for those that have joined our tribe, might not have many friends, or are new, or someone who is a pet, and make new friends!!!
Hope all is well in your foodbowls!

Those bastards hunting down us little petsters finally got me. I am so hurt and sad. Why do they want to shut down us furry friends?
